CAS(E) this sketch Challenge #227

CTS_227

I haven’t used my March Doodle Blooms Kit from MFT nor my Oxide Inks for awhile so I thought this would be a good time to use them.  Love the Oxide inks but wanted to try something a bit different with them so I started going through some of my stash and decided to mix the inks with perfect pearls.  I used worn lipstick, broken china and fossilized amber mixing each with some Biscotti Perfect Pearls.  There was quite a bit left of the mixtures on my craft mat so I decided to use it as my background and not waste it.  The colors are lighter since I had to add more water to have enough for the background.  The sentiment and butterfly is from Stampin-up Grateful Bunch.  The shimmer is very light but very pretty on the actual card although it really doesn’t show up well on the photo.

Color Throwdown #448

This week’s colors arepurple, mint green, hot pink and teal. I love this little stamp from Whimsy called Dreamy Dragon and thought it would look cute painted in the challenge colors. I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and spread the color with water for the background.  The sentiment is from a Bobunny sentiment stamp.

Card Concepts Challenge #76

The inspiration for this challenge: I wanted to make a card with a single rose as the focal point in the card plus add some black to correspond to the challenge photo.

I used two rose stamps from Impression Obsession which were stamped in versa mark, covered with black embossing powder and then heat set.  I then sprinkled ultramarine, lemon  and cobalt blue Brusho’s around the center rose, sprayed with water and blotted with a paper towel to lighten the colors.  I painted the center rose with scarlet Brusho’s to make it stand out.  The sentiment is from Penny Black’s Happy Thoughts Stamp set.  This is a Mixed Media style with the embossing and Brusho’s.

CAS Color & Sketch Challenge #228

CC&S color228-001

For this challenge I used Gina K Blue Denim and Peach Bellini cards stock with Altenew Lotus stamp set. Sentiment is from Reverse Confetti “Your so…” stamp set. The Recollections Glitter Copper embossing powder didn’t show up well on the blue card stock so I used regular copper embossing powder on it.  Just love these challenges they make me go outside of my comfort level.
