Tissue paper and color smooching.
Watched a video on using tissue paper by Loll Thompson (Stamping with Loll) on youtube a while ago and decided to try the technique yesterday. There are many videos with this and variations of these techniques on you tube. I used tissue paper along with brushos, distress inks (both regular and oxide), stamping with a gold and platinum embossing powders, stamping and metallic rub-ons. I also ink smooshed on a textured acylic paint paper (the blue and pink moon). Some I like better than others but there were parts of some that I liked so I used those for my die cuts. I hope you try this technique, it was so much fun. Later today I am going to use a textured napkin to see how that looks.
July 25, 2017 Card
I had planned to make this card for the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge but I missed the deadline. The challenge I choose was a diagonal; acetate, distress inks (any) and yellow. The black stripe acetate is from We Are Memory Keepers Acetate 6×6 pad. I used Distress oxides for the background and regular distress inks to paint the flowers. The flowers and leaves are from Stampin-up’s Fabulous Florets. The Happy Birthday die is from Memory Box. I used a lot of glue dots to adhere the acetate to the background and the flowers to the acetate. I used stick-it for the Happy Birthday so it would stick to the acetate.
Hero Arts Monthly Kit – June 2017 Cards
Just a couple of cards I made with the kit, the first card I used my metallic paints for the background and giraffes, the trees were die cut from a shimmer grey cardstock. Happy Birthday from BoBunny Sentiment set.
The second card I used Silver Tonic Mousse with the kit stencil on black cardstock (sprinkled some black glass glitter on the mousse before it dried) then pasted it to a silver shimmer cardstock. Cut some silver shimmer cardstock as a band for the middle, pasted the elephant cutouts and used the Be Strong sentiment. Wink of Stella to add some sparkle to the elephants.
Just for fun
As soon as I saw the Critters at the Dog Park (Lawn Fawn) I had to have it. The Boxer play bowing is so typical Boxer and loved the other dogs too. The grass and tree are from the June Hero Arts Kit. The top sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays stamp set, can’t remember where the other is from, will have to look it up.
Watercolor Anemone card
I saw a beautiful pale pink anemone on Pinterest, the petals were pretty intricate so I looked up some other pictures and drew one. I transferred it to watercolor paper with my light box so I could paint it. I originally wanted it to be a picture but I messed up on the stem so I cut it out, made another stem and put it on a card.
