Cards in Envy-Penny for Your Thoughts

To see all of the wonderful cards entered in this Challenge click here.

Last year when I first started crafting I bought several wood stamps on ebay.  After going through them looking for Christmas stamps I found this cute Stampin-up stamp set called Ruff Day and just loved this particular stamp.

Stamp, ink, Paper Challenge #113 – Back to School

To get additional information on this fun challenge, linked here.

I have the “School Girl” digital image from Tiddly Inks and thought it would be perfect for this Challenge.  I printed the image and (sentiment from suggestions on what to write on a back to school card on the internet) onto linen cardstock.  I used Prismacolor pencils to color the image. The image, frame and sentiment were cut with Kat Scrappiness dies.  The image and sentiment are mounted with foam backing to Raisin Boat’s Sky Blue cardstock.

TIME OUT Challenge – Autumn

There is also an option to do a 10 minute or less Speed Stamping, maybe someday I will be brave enough to attempt this.  Check out the Challenge at TIME OUT Challenges by clicking “here”.

The aspen trees and the deer with their antlers reminds me of Autumn which is right behind spring as my favorite season. I used the Crafters Workshop Aspen Stencil, deer stamps from Gina K stamp sets and the Celebrate sentiment is from Avery Elles’ Sentimental die set.  First I taped down my cardstock then taped the stencil over it, with  a dauber and iced spruce, peeled paint and faded jeans oxide I colored the background.  I also used a small eyeshadow makeup tip and used black soot oxide for the marks on the aspen trees.  With the stencil still in place I stamped the two deer, removed the stencil and added the die cut sentiment.  The white cardstock is Neenah 80# and the note card is Gina K’s Moonlit Fog.

Always Fun Challenge #18 – Let it Sparkle

I just bought some mint Perfect Pearls and WOW’s Seaglass Embossing Glitter so what a perfect match for this Challenge (linked here).  I have been playing with my sister’s detail and outline butterfly dies from Memory Box and using a butterfly painting technique from a video by Dawn Woleslagel from Wplus9.

The butterfly outline die was painted with watercolors, once dry I added some mint perfect pearls to a bit of water and painted over the entire butterfly.  On the detail die I dabbed it in VersaMark and added the seaglass embossing powder, glued it on salt water taffy Taylored Expressions cardstock and added Pretty Pink Posh clear droplets.   The sentiment is from a Gina K stamp set. I wish the photo showed the sparkle of the perfect pearls and embossing glitter better.
